Homesteads doors open out to the slopes, just a rope tow away. Tall windows hold views of the ski village, the trails, the craggy mountains, the aspens, the sky. In summer, cheery daisies and purple lupin bloom all around the house, and in winter, all the world is white. Homestead is rustic and elegant, sumptuously furnished, and filled with fine art and sculpture. Children are most welcome for despite the caliber of its decor, Homestead is a hands-on, well-loved and lived-in house. Behind the house, a stone terrace serves as an outdoor living and dining room, even as a kitchen when the grill is fired up. A roomy hot tub stands near a circle of cushioned armchairs; and all is consecrated by mountain air as fine and clear as champagne. Double doors lead back inside to the living room. The terrace, set up against the hillside, feels private and secluded, bordered by a thick perimeter of trees (and, in summer, a profusion of wildflowers) yet the slopes are a snowballs throw away. < back to portfolio |
