Creekside camaraderie and contemporary design align in this impeccably-sited and –styled lodge. The graciously succinct home sits on a prime perimeter lot within Shooting Star, a luxury development within walking distance (or a short shuttle ride in winter) of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort. Sheathed in barnwood, the lodge blends into its surroundings, and could be mistaken for a remote retreat if not for all the amenities that lie within a stone’s throw of its flagstone porch.
An antique slatted chair greets guests on the front porch, inviting a moment of scenic repose.
Designed by beloved local architect John Carney of Carney Logan Burke, the Lodge translates the spaciousness of a western barn into an elegant open-concept layout, anchored in a truly great, great room framed in timbers. A quiet palette suffuses the airy space, defined by dramatic elephant-hued, Loro Piana drapes bordering the panoramic windows and a cream-colored sectional facing the two-story stone fireplace. Modern leather armchairs from Cassina provide sleek seating beside the vista, and a flat-screen TV tops the mantel.
A live-edge walnut dining table surrounded by leather sling chairs from BDDW, seats 10, comfortably. In the adjacent kitchen, four burgundy, Poltrona Frau stools service the breakfast bar. The gourmet expanse includes stainless steel appliances and thoughtful additions including a pot- faucet above the Viking stove. charcoal industrial pendant lights dangle above the granite island. White paneling fronts the kitchen cabinets, providing a contemporary contrast to the ebony countertops.
Just beyond the living space, the terrace beckons with leather butterfly chairs and a hot tub poised to take in the sweeping expanse. Alternatively, pack a picnic and dine creekside. Returning inside, a downstairs guest suite, linked to the great room, offers a king bed wrapped in crisp white linens, paired with sculptural night stands and a contemporary armchair made cozy by a draped shearling throw. The ensuite bathroom boasts a double vanity and shower. The back hall adds functionality with a laundry room, powder room (with a chic pedestal sink) and attached two-car garage.
Upstairs, two additional bedrooms await, starting with the guest suite with a full and twin bed, complemented by the ensuite bath with its granite vanity and clean wainscoting. The nearby media room encourages unwinding with its tweed sofa, leather ottomans and Eames leather lounge chair. Built-in storage frames the massive flat-screen TV.
The primary suite features a graceful metal four-poster bed with pintuck bedding. The panoramic sitting area places a pair of modern, Poltrona Frau, wingback chairs beside the fireplace. The ensuite bath offers a sculptural soaking tub, rain shower and double vanity. The many amenities found inside the Lodge are rivaled only by the myriad of outdoor diversions that lie steps away in Teton Village. A bike path borders the property, allowing for car-free travel between top spots including the southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park. Downtown Jackson is a short drive away, as is the hamlet of Wilson. Whether fly-fishing or horseback riding, mountain biking or backcountry skiing, the Lodge allows you to choose your own adventure – with the help of The Clear Creek Group’s Concierge team.
