Four Pines 6 is popular with fans of contemporary décor, and also with multiple families traveling together with kids. For parents, three of this home’s five bedrooms have king-size beds. For the kids, there’s a bunk room with four twin-size beds and another bedroom with two twin beds. The two kid-friendly rooms are connected by a wet bar and that area of the house can be closed off from the rest of the house. This area even has its own entrance by the garage.
While this home has the same rustic materials palette — reclaimed barn wood, stone, over-sized beams — as all of the homes in this area of Teton Village’s Shooting Star development, inside it’s more contemporary than some of its neighbors. The bench immediately inside the front door has sleek lines and is upholstered in fabric with a geometric print and sits below a vibrant painting which is the focal point of the space.
The contemporary aesthetic in this cabin is cozy, thanks to the thoughtful use of colors and textures. The L‑shaped sofa in the living area is over-sized and its pillows overstuffed. The sofa is also right in front of the home’s wood-burning fireplace. Tucked into a corner behind the sofa and flanked by windows is a table for 4 that will undoubtedly become a favorite spot for a game of cards, breakfast with a view or for an afternoon cup of hot cocoa.
The living area is open to the kitchen and the dining area. High ceilings ensure this space is light and airy while reclaimed barn wood paneling and kitchen cabinetry warms up the room. In the professional-grade kitchen, including Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, a large center island and a bar mean there’s plenty of space for hanging out.
In summer, as comfortable as the home’s main gathering space is, chances are you’ll spend more time outside. French doors on both the north and south walls of this area open onto stone patios. The northern patio is larger and has a gas-burning grill and a hot tub. The southern terrace is a more intimate space and an ideal spot for watching the sunset.
The primary suite is the only bedroom on the ground floor. It includes its own wing at the south end of the house and has a gas-burning fireplace as well as large windows and expansive mountain views.
Also on the first floor is the laundry room, access to the garage, and a media room.
Upstairs, in addition to the kids’ wing at the north end of the home, did we mention the shuffleboard table in the bunk room, are two more bedroom suites, each with a king-size bed. If you have to work, or maybe just need a spot to write some postcards, the landing at the top of the main stairway has a built-in desk.
