This 1,783-square-foot, three-bedroom penthouse is in downtown Jackson, but looking out its two walls of windows, it’s a corner unit, mountains and buttes dominate the views. Better than enjoying these views from inside is stepping outside and soaking them in from the stone terrace that wraps around the southwest and northeast sides of this fourth-floor unit.
Because of its views, we think it is the best of the nine. Also, it is the largest. Its location is less than one block from the Center for the Arts and three blocks from several iconic Jackson establishments, including the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, the historic Wort Hotel, and Jackson Hole Playhouse. All of downtown Jackson’s restaurants are within walking distance, including Snake River Grill, Persephone Bakery, and The Kitchen. Also, within walking distance is the elk antler-arched Town Square and Snow King Mountain. The latter has 400 acres of ski-able terrain and a tubing park in winter and miles of hiking and biking trails in the summer. Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, the valley’s destination ski and summer resort is about a 25 minute drive or bus ride. Across the street is Vertical Harvest, a four-story greenhouse which grows 100,000 pounds of tomatoes and greens used in most local restaurants, we recommend a tour of this architectural wonder.
Although it is the views to the outside from Penthouse on Glenwood 403 that you’ll notice first, its interiors are elegant and sophisticated. The kitchen, living, and dining areas are open to each other. A dining table seats 6, while the stone-topped kitchen island has seats for three. The kitchen has Jenn-Air appliances, including a gas range and two ovens. An overstuffed sectional sofa in the living room faces a gas-burning fireplace. A second sofa opens up to a single bed.
All three of the bedrooms have large windows. The smallest bedroom, has a Full/Twin bunk bed with a trundle and is located by the front entrance, shares the same spectacular views to the southwest as one of the walls of windows in the main living space, of the Snake River Range and Gros Ventre Range of mountains. The second guest room has a queen-size bed. These two rooms share a bathroom, which has a shower/tub combo.
The primary suite is past the laundry room (where there is a side-by-side washer and dryer). Here there’s a king-size bed and a comfortable sitting area. The oversize primary bathroom has a walk-in shower with dual shower heads, a double vanity, and a deep soaking tub.
Rare for a Jackson Hole home is that Penthouse on Glenwood 403 has air conditioning throughout.
While the restaurants, entertainment, and shopping of downtown Jackson are a short walk from this penthouse, that doesn’t mean the wild spaces Jackson Hole is famous for are difficult to get to. The southern entrance to Grand Teton National Park is a 20-minute drive. Cache Creek, a hiking, Nordic ski, and biking area beloved by locals, is a 5‑minute drive. Park at the main Cache Creek trail head and it’s only a 15-minute hike before you’re in designated wilderness. Cache Creek is one of the best places to spot moose in the valley. Guests can also bring or rent bikes and access the paved biking trails located throughout the town and connect to Teton Village and Grand Teton National Park. Once your lodging is secured, a member of The Clear Creek Group Concierge team will work with you to build an itinerary for your visit to Jackson Hole!
